Privacy Policy

Sanctuary is a spiritual reflection and educational app. It is not therapy, medical care, clergy, or an emergency service.

Information Sanctuary processes

We process an app installation identifier, account and session identifiers, the religious or philosophical perspective and preferences you choose, and requests needed to provide scripture passages and reflections. If you choose Apple sign-in, Apple provides a stable account identifier; Sanctuary does not receive your Apple ID password.

Reflection requests and generated responses may be retained briefly so the app can finish and retrieve a response. Journal content or longer-term reflection history is stored only when you enable saving. Private profile, reflection, and journal fields stored by the service are encrypted.

If you use the community room, Sanctuary stores the posts, comments, and reactions you submit so they can appear to other users. Reports and blocked-user choices are stored to enforce moderation and personalize what you see. Community content is screened for safety before it appears; do not post information you want to keep private.

Anonymous usage counts and feedback

Sanctuary may count whether a browser visited the site or used a feature on a given day. The service stores only an aggregate total for each activity and date, not individual analytics events. These totals are not attached to an account, session, device identifier, IP address, reflection, or journal entry.

Feedback messages are stored with only the selected category, the area of the app, a review status, and the time received. Sanctuary does not store an account, session, device identifier, IP address, reflection, or journal entry with a feedback message. Do not include names, email addresses, or other identifying details in feedback. Hosting providers may still process ordinary network metadata transiently for security and reliable delivery.

AI and service providers

When AI features are used, the text or audio you submit and the scripture context needed for the response are processed by OpenAI. Supabase hosts Sanctuary's application service and database and processes ordinary network metadata needed for security and reliable operation. These providers process data to deliver Sanctuary; we do not sell personal information, run advertising, or use third-party advertising trackers.

Your choices

You may use Sanctuary as a guest, disable private journal saving, export on-device data, delete individual saved entries, or delete your Sanctuary account and local data from Settings. Account deletion removes the associated live-service data, subject to limited security, legal, and backup-retention requirements.

Safety and children

Sanctuary may show crisis resources when language suggests immediate danger, but it does not monitor users or contact emergency services. Sanctuary is not directed to children under 13.

For privacy questions, access requests, or product concerns, use the always-visible Feedback button in Sanctuary. Do not include passwords, account credentials, or private journal content.
